Hmm...  Unfortunately, I can't test that combination here because our
IRIX64 system has to run an LDM-5 for the next week.

May I use your system (io) to investigate the problem?  I would need to
logon as the LDM user (ldm).  Root access would be nice but not
absolutely necessary if you would be willing to to do the "make
install_setuids".
