Hmm...  I tested version 6.0.12 on a downstream host requesting data from 
an LDM-5 running on both IRIX and IRIX64 upstream hosts.  It worked on 
all downstream hosts on which I could run it.  I couldn't test the
following combinations, however:

    UPSTREAM            DOWNSTREAM

    IRIX64              IRIX64
    IRIX                IRIX64
    IRIX                IRIX

Which is your combination and what releases of the operating system are
they running?
