Hiya,
        Having trouble with machine crashes on my pals machine, I decided
to roll my own kernel. I got vanilla 2.4.17 and applied the SGI XFS patch
for XFS filesystems, which I use. I know, I know unsupported
combination. Anyway, LDM and this kernel did not get along at all. The
base system is RedHat 7.2, which is fully updated as of now.
        I recompiled LDM as well while on 2.4.17.

Here are the errors. These would occur a while after starting LDM.. It
would crash LDM and corrupt the queue.

Feb 18 16:13:08 pals ldmarchive[1412]: assertion "rlix != RL_NONE" failed:
file "pq.c", line 4070

Feb 18 16:20:09 pals ldmarchive[20009]: assertion "rlix != RL_NONE"
failed: file "pq.c", line 4070

"pq.c", line 2172

Feb 18 19:41:05 pals zelgadis[31731]: assertion "(q == TQ_NIL) || (TQ_HEAD
< q && q < tq->nalloc + TQ_OVERHEAD_ELEMS)" failed: file "pq.c", line 723

< q && q < tq->nalloc + TQ_OVERHEAD_ELEMS)" failed: file "pq.c", line 723

Feb 18 23:47:59 pals zelgadis[29263]: assertion "n > 0" failed: file
"pq.c", line 2172

        I am back running 2.4.14-SGI_XFS_1.0.2smp and LDM is fine, but my
machine will crash every 7-10 days or so.

        Don't worry too much about my report, I thought that I would just
pass along my experience for anyone else that may see this behaviour... I
am going to test some more with 2.4.17 vanilla on a spare box and see what
happens...

Thanks!
  Daryl
