We are running development tests that involve doing ldmpings to all
machines participating in the IDD in order to determining how good (or
bad) sites connections are.  We have been trying to assess what impacts
the introduction of the zlib-compressed NOAAPORT NIDS products will
have come January 1, and to develop better ways of gathering statistics
from IDD nodes.
