Halo

Steve, Robb, Mike:
  This is Ka Kit from CCNY. Halo was having some problem where error 
messages keep popping out on the desktop. And I cannot login to halo from 
the console, only as a remote server. I need to reboot the machine and the 
problem seems to be disappeared. I already sent Mike the error messages I 
saw on the desktop. I think it has something to do with the ldmConnect and 
the mail.
  Now there is another problem with the display. Everytime when I open the 
mcidas and click on the graphic display window, the whole screen will turn 
gray. And I couldn't load the gempak GUI because the available colors is not 
enough. (Netscape and all other GUI are not turned on) I tried to run the 
ntl with just 64 colors, but there's still not enough colors to support.
  One more thing, when I login as some users (like wxnut) besides root, a 
small window called Sdtperfmeter will pop out and I cannot close it. If 
possible, please tell me the cause of those problems and the resolution.  I 
also want to know the progress of Gempak/LDM configuration. Thank you very
