I compiled the ldm-5.0.6alden on the nport2 machine.  This was only a
alden release so it's not in the source code system.  The only change I
make was to set the environment variable CC to cc. For some reason c89
has some problems with this source version.  I configured the ldmadmin and
started the ldm.  There still needs to have some configurations done to
make this a complete installation.  ie setting the time, etc   Also it is
better to send problems to support instead of Dave, the director.
