Re: 19990520: LDM install on linux

Jim,

I login in today.  A couple of  things:

- first 'portmap' process is not running. Needed by LDM to register port
  388.  

- /usr/sbin is not in the LDM $PATH, so it can't find the command rpcinfo
  used by ldmadmin

- LDM is using the bash shell, know to have problem, use the c shell 

- pqact.conf has and error in it. ie

[ldm@lou ~/etc]$ ldmadmin pqactcheck ./pqact.conf
May 24 16:39:58 pqact[974]: Syntax error at line 1, not enough fields

I fixed it, there was some extra control chars caused by your editor.
