Dan, I was not sure about whose NOAAPort feed you were refering to- Are you still talking about the university feed from us, or your own Unysis system? Anyhow, here is the NWS notice regarding all WMO headers with 97 in them. I presume this includes SDUS97! NOXX47 KWBC 071530 ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT NOTICE ABOUT UNOFFICIAL NWS PRODUCTS CONTAINING 97 IN WMO HEADING AS DEPLOYMENT AND TESTING OF THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ADVANCED WEATHER INTERACTIVE PROCESSING SYSTEM /AWIPS/ CONTINUES THERE ARE A GROWING NUMBER OF PRODUCTS WITH THE WMO HEADING FORMAT TTAA97 CCCC BEING TRANSMITTED ON THE AWIPS/NOAAPORT DATASTREAM. THESE PRODUCTS WITH 97 IN THE WMO HEADING ARE UNOFFICIAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TEST PRODUCTS FROM UNCOMMISSIONED SYSTEMS AND ARE NOT /REPEAT NOT/ TO BE USED FOR ANY OPERATIONAL PURPOSE. THESE PRODUCTS OFTEN DUPLICATE OR ARE SIMILAR TO OTHER OFFICIAL PRODUCTS WHICH DO NOT CONTAIN 97 IN THE WMO HEADING. ONLY OFFICIAL PRODUCTS WHICH DO NOT CONTAIN 97 IN THE WMO HEADING SHOULD BE USED OPERATIONALLY. PLEASE DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE THESE PRODUCTS OR POST THEM TO THE INTERNET. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS TAKING STEPS TO MINIMIZE THE AVAILABILITY OF THESE PRODUCTS WHERE FEASIBLE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THESE PRODUCTS PLEASE CONTACT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TECH CONTROL AT 301-713-0902. I assume any trickle of products out under the '97 headings are test products only and can be really screwed up. The routing of the NWSTG products onto theIDD from SSEC's ingestor places binary products onto the HRS stream- as a FOS-like product. Glenn is working on a new LDM release that will use the NOAAport header rather than the fabricated FOS header since many products like you are refering to were never intended for the FOS feed, and the naming convention of FOS is limiting. A revised name space using the NOAAport information, including AFOS pils etc is under development.
