[IDV #WOO-516357]: VISSR/VAS (GOES-7 and earlier) AREA files projection problems

It sounds like there are two problems here you concerned about: one is the 
projection and the other is the resolution. What you can do is turning off the
adaptive resolution under Edit > Preference > View, and also turn off the 
auto-set projection under Projections > Auto-set Projection. Once these are 
done,
you can select/create a lat/lon projection and keep it that way, and then 
create the
display of these area files, and output the NC files.
