> Dear Help, > > I was trying to use IDV and I was unable to find the archived surface > (METAR) data, for example, 1/15/2011. Hi Chester, We are not the data center and don't archive surface data for more than 6 months. > > 1. Where can I get the the archived surface (METAR) data? There are two options: one is to get it from one of the national data center with the format the IDV can recognize, the second is to contact the data center in the ssec.wisc.edu. The first one is free, but you do need to know the correct format to download the data. The second one may cost you something, but the data server link they provide can be load into the IDV directly. > 2. Can I access the archived surface (METAR) data from NCAR Yellowstone > computer? The answer is no, there is no data server in the Yellowstone computer. Let me know if you need further help.
