Alan, The problem is the data provider made no effort to make this file CF compliant. http://cfconventions.org/ Just glancing at it, I found the following problems: - the latitudes and longitudes do not have CF units for degrees - there are no coordinate variables (coordinate variables contain the coordinate values for a dimension) Not to mention, there is other weird stuff, e.g., "Longitude in decimal degrees (20-380 degree system)" It is possible you may be able to fix it with a fair bit of NCML, though that seems a (very) long shot. It actually would not be hard to convert these data into CF compliant data, if you don't mind writing a bit of (Python, for example) code.
