Andrew, I'll need to know the fields you are selecting, and the exact formula you are using. I assume you are using this data source: dods://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov:9090/dods/nam/nam20151228/nam_conusnest_18z which I obtained from your bundle. I did write my own formula to sum Relative Humidity + Vertical Velocity and did not encounter problems. For example: add(a,b) I did not see "Manifold Dimension" issue, but usually this indicates the dimensions of the fields (2D vs 3D) you are summing are inconsistent. Make sure the fields you are summing have consistent dimensions (e.g., do not sum a 2D and 3D field).
