Dear Kunal,
. Go to the Dashboard, Data Choosers tab
. Click on the General, Files node to the left
. Select your map shp file for later use. Select a data source type of
Shapefile.
. Now select your data file
. Select a Data Source Type of "Text Point and Trajectory Data files"
. Click the Add Source button. This action will take you to the Point
Data panel.
. Select a delimiter of Space
. At the bottom of the Point data panel, describe the fields. The
first two are lat and lon.
. Identify the third field with whatever name and unit you choose.
. Click OK. This action will take you to the Field Selector. You are
now ready to display your data.
. Go to Datasources (on the left), Formulas, Maps, and select "Subset
field from Map". Choose Color-Shaded Plan View.
. At this point you will be prompted for a field and a map. Choose the
field of interest and for the map, select the shape file.
Click OK and you will have the display of data over India.
Best Wishes,
Unidata IDV Support
