Bonjour Michel,
We have made some improvements to our contouring algorithms lately. Please
download and try the nightly build
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/idv/nightly/index.jsp.
Also try experimenting with the zoom level. Sometimes that can help improve the
contours.
