[IDV #YBQ-374303]: some features do not work on macbook

Hi Joris,
We do not detect any error message attachments in your latest e-mail. At any
rate, Yuan and I have some suggestions for you.
We notice the amount of memory allocated to the IDV is very low, and that is
likely the root cause of the problem.
The latest version of the IDV automatically allocates sufficient memory
according to your machine parameters. The latest version of the IDV (2.9u4) is
available here: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/idv/nightly/index.jsp.
Give that a try.
Apart from that, make sure the permissions for your ~/.unidata directory is
read and write accessible.
