Hello- > Full Name: Youssef > Email Address: address@hidden > Organization: EM5D > Package Version: 2.7u1 build date:2009-07-14 19:24 UTC > Operating System: Linux > Hardware: Java: home: /home/youssef/IDV_2.7u1/jre version: 1.6.0_13 j3d:1.5.2 > fcs (build4) > Description of problem: precipitation rate is in kg/m?/s this is usually in > mm/hour or kg/m?/h. How to change this in the display. > Thank you Those kg/m2/s are the units supplied by the model grib file. A kg/m2 is essentially a mm of water, so kg/m2/s is about the same as mm/s. You can change the units in the display using the Edit->Change Display Unit menu. If you want to make this the default for that parameter, you can use the Display Control's File->Save->Save as Parameter Default menu or add an entry using the Tools->Parameter Defaults Editor. See the User's Guide section on Display Controls: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/IDV/docs/userguide/controls/index.html#menus for more information.
