The grid goes from 45N 0E (UL) to 5N 65E (LR) with a spacing of .25 degrees (261x161 pts): -------------------------------------------------------------------- Header : GRIB1 Discipline : 0 Meteorological Products GRIB Edition : 1 GRIB length : 84150 Originating Center : 98 European Center for Medium-Range ecasts (RSMC) Originating Sub-Center : 0 WMO Secretariat Product Definition : 0 Forecast/Uninitialized Analysis/I Parameter Category : -1 Meteorological Parameters Parameter Name : 129 Z Geopotential Parameter Units : m2 s-2 Reference Time : 2009-02-01T00:00:00Z Time Units : hour Time Range Indicator : product valid at RT + P1 Time 1 (P1) : 0 Time 2 (P2) : 0 Generating Process Type : 133 Unknown Level Type : 100 isobaric Level Value 1 : 200.0 Level Value 2 : 0.0 GDS Exists : true BMS Exists : false Number of data points : 42021 Grid Name : Latitude/Longitude Grid Grid Shape: 0 spherical Spherical earth radius: 6367.47 Nx : 261 Ny : 161 La1 : 45.0 Lo1 : 0.0 Resolution & Component flags : 128 Winds : True La2 : 5.0 Lo2 : 65.0 Dx : 0.25 Dy : 0.25 Scanning mode : 0 That would put the grid bounding box (blue rectangle) where it shows on the screen shot. You can only subset within that region. When I try to subset within that box, it seems to work for me with 2.6u2 and 2.7a1. Can you send me a bundle pointing to that file on your local system with a grid subset that doesn't work the way you think it should? > From cutting trees, HP Another ridge heading our way next week.
