Hi Stu,

Are these separate columns? If so, you can use the "colspan" column attribute 
described here:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/IDV/docs/userguide/data/TextPointData.html
This basically concatenates the columns together (space separated) and treats 
them as one column.
