Dave, When accessing netcdf files via a web server the server needs to be configured to support The web server needs to be configured to accept byte ranges: http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec14.html Basically this allows clients to access a file via http like a random access file. That said - there can be major performance hits when accessing some types of netcdf files this way. Grids work pretty well because the client makes one call to the server and slurps up a bunch of bytes. However, for finer grained data like point data there can be many reads back and forth to the server to access the data. Each of those reads takes alot of time due to network latency. -Jeff Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: LZQ-312014 Department: Support IDV Priority: Normal Status: Closed
