[IDV #CVX-751058]: GFS K and L subdomain issue

The data are available in GRIB 1 & 2 formats on the CONDUIT feed.
You can see the header information for pqact at:

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/data/conduit/ldm_idd/index.html

which should allow you to pare down what you get.  Grid 3 is
1x1 degree (GRIB1) and Grid4 (.5 degree) is in GRIB 2.

You can access the data remotely from the IDV Model catalog
and historical data is available from the NOMADS server:
