Hi Rich-

Whatever you load in. ;-)

Usually, I use the model terrain for displays, so that's one possibility.
Stu Wier put together a page on importing various topography
datasets into GEON-IDV:

http://geon.unavco.org/unavco/IDV_for_GEON_topo.html

which includes instructions  for  getting some higher rez NGDC  
datasets in.

We also support the USGS ASCII DEM datasets described at:
