[IDV #EPX-595048]: IDV - reuse of data

I agree and it should work with the subsetted grid the way
you think it should.   Right now, I'm having trouble reproducing this
problem.  I was able to reproduce it the other day, but
can't now.  Which dataset (model) are you accessing?
