Such is the case for polar orbiter data (at least size and coverage). Tomorrow's build will have a stab at checking to see if the new selection is the same as the previous and if so, don't change any of the properties. Let me know if this satisfies your request. It's difficult to know whether the user changes a widget or the user does so we are not using that as a way of checking. The other option would be to have a lock icon that would lock your selections.
