Where did you install java3d? From the listing above, the java you are trying to run is in /usr/java/jre1.5.0_05. Is this the GNU java or did you install the jre also? Since the listing above shows "j3d.version:none", it means that Java 3D is not installed in the same place as the version of java you are running. Thus, you get the error below. Is there a reason you are not using the linux specific installer with java instead of just the java installer? If not, I suggest using the linux installer which has Java and Java 3D contained in it.
