The IDV is freely available to anyone. You just need to register on our site and log in before downloading it. From the IDV homepage (http://www.unidata.ucar.edu), click on the "Create an Account" link in the Login box on the right side of the page to create the account and log in. Once you are logged in, you can download the IDV through the Downloads link. See the section of the IDV user's guide on downloading and running the IDV: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/idv/docs/userguide/Starting.html Be advised that we will be putting out a new release (1.2) this Friday, so you might want to wait until that is available.
