Off hand I am not aware of a simple java3d test program.  Probably a 
pretty good
bet that if the main display window is blank then it is something wrong with
the graphics card/driver.  I'm pinging Don about this - he's out of town 
this week
but he probably has  a better answer.

I'm a bit out of the loop here. Do you mean Dorade RHI files? If so, 
then, yes,
the IDV can display them (and we assume it is correct).
