>From: Fred Yongxin Zhang <address@hidden> >Organization: University of Hawaii >Keywords: 200501312006.j0VK6ov2004829 IDV netcdf satellite images Hi Fred- > > Our IT specialist made some changes in the XF86Config-4 file and now >IDV works perfectly fine for me. Glad to hear that. > I can also display the real time >satellite, radar and model data without any problems. However, when I >tried to display the NWS (National Weather Service) archived satellite >data in netCDF format, I got problems: the information at the bottom of >the Data Selector Window said "loading: (file name)" but nothing showed up >in the Fields and Times windows even after twenty minutes. Please let me >know what might be wrong. I suppose that IDV can read and display netCDF >files. Are these from an AWIPS system? We currently do not support satellite imagery from AWIPS in the IDV. However, we are in the process of increasing the netCDF support for various data types. Do you have one or more sample files that I could use to test with? If you could put them on an FTP/HTTP server for me to download, I can take a look. Thanks.
