Oops sorry I did not say where to put it! Use the Jython library in the IDV itself : menu choice Edit->Jython library, user library pane. You can enter and edit Jython code there. Any methods in the IDV jython library can be called directly by your formulas. The Jython library is a way to create code more complex than a one-line formula.
