Hmm... The 'Connection closed by foreign host' message suggests that the LDM that the 'telnet' invocation was connected to dropped the connection. Please run the following while I am monitoring the LDM log file on node3.unidata.ucar.edu: <as 'ldm' on nids.geos.tamu.edu> notifyme -vl- -f ANY -h node3.unidata.ucar.edu My monitoring the LDM log file on node3.unidata.ucar.edu will allow me to see if your 'notifyme' attempt is making it to node3, and, if it is, why it is being denyied.
