Hmm... The 'Connection closed by foreign host' message suggests that
the LDM that the 'telnet' invocation was connected to dropped the
connection.
Please run the following while I am monitoring the LDM log file
on node3.unidata.ucar.edu:
<as 'ldm' on nids.geos.tamu.edu>
notifyme -vl- -f ANY -h node3.unidata.ucar.edu
My monitoring the LDM log file on node3.unidata.ucar.edu will allow
me to see if your 'notifyme' attempt is making it to node3, and, if
it is, why it is being denyied.
I am monitoring the LDM log file on node3.unidata.ucar.edu now...
Cheers,
Tom
