Hi Murray,

You can check the latencies for any IDD datafeed on our real-time
statistics web pages:
http://rtstats.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/rtstats/siteindex
The thing to do is to look for the machine that is feeding you and
check to see if the latency plot for the NEXRAD2 feed are showing.
For instance, if you were being fed by uni14.unidata.ucar.edu, you would
check:
http://rtstats.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/rtstats/iddstats_nc?NEXRAD2+uni14.unidata.ucar.edu
Since you are likely being fed by idd.unidata.ucar.edu or iddb.unidata.ucar.edu
checking is a little more difficult as these are actually clusters of
machines:
idd.unidata.ucar.edu is composed of uni14 - uni20
iddb.unidata.ucar.edu is composed of cluster0 - cluster6
but the receipt latencies on each of the backend machines of each
cluster should show the same latencies (unless there is something
seriously wrong with the machine).
If you examine:
http://rtstats.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/rtstats/iddstats_nc?NEXRAD2+uni14.unidata.ucar.edu
you will see that there are some latencies from some radars. None seem to be
as long as 12 minutes, but this can change throughout the day.
Cheers,
Tom
