Hi Rusty,

It is always best to test REQUESTs using 'notifyme' before switching.

We looked through the log files on all of the real server backend
machines in iddb.unidata.ucar.edu, and we found no evidence of any
contact by a machine that has 'nesdis' in their name.

Since geoprod4.espc.nesdis.noaa.gov does not resolve to any IP address:

% nslookup  geoprod4.espc.nesdis.noaa.gov
Server:         192.168.72.2
Address:        192.168.72.2#53

** server can't find geoprod4.espc.nesdis.noaa.gov: NXDOMAIN

it is likely that we (probably me) setup a hardwired mapping 
of your machine's IP address and a name that would match for
an existing ALLOW.  But, since the /etc/hosts hardwires are
identical on idd.unidata.ucar.edu and iddb.unidata.ucar.edu,
and since we are not seeing _any_ Denying messages in iddb's
LDM log files, it is possible/likely that the NOAA firewall is blocking
outbound connections to port 388 on iddb.unidata.ucar.edu.

Can you provide us with:

- the external IP address of your LDM machine

- all of the output when you run the following 'notifyme' command

<as 'ldm' on your LDM machine>

notifyme -vl- -f ANY -h iddb.unidata.ucar.edu

  Again, we need all of the output.
