The changing of the IP address for your LDM machine illustrates the notion that the hardwiring of IP to name in our local /etc/hosts file is very brittle. This is the main reason that we want sites to have their network folks setup both forward (name -> IP) and reverse (IP -> name) DNS for machines that will be running the LDM. If reverse DNS had existed for your machine, your feed REQUEST(s) would have been honored as soon as DNS information was propagated from Argonne National Labs. As per your request, I have changed our the IP -> name mapping in the /etc/hosts files on all of the real-server backend machines in the idd.unidata.ucar.edu top level relay cluster. re: > I will work with our folks here to get a better solution working.
