[IDD #GFR-913454]: 128.117.156.80 (gate) LDM appears to be down

The kernel Ethernet driver on gale.unidata.ucar.edu dumped core at around
6 am today, so the machine became unreachable.  'gale' was power cycle
rebooted, and service has returned.

This is the first time that I have seen an Ethernet driver dump core!
