Hi Don, re: > I just upgraded castor.rcac.purdue.edu to new hardware, OS, > and LDM version. Castor participates in the IDD. As best I can > tell it is working. > > Can you tell from your end if everything looks happy? We are able to see what castor is receiving in the NEXRAD2 feed using the LDM utility 'notifyme': <as ldm on a machine in the unidata.ucar.edu domain> notifyme -vl- -f NEXRAD2 -h castor.rcac.purdue.edu Apr 09 17:44:24 notifyme[14910] NOTE: Starting Up: castor.rcac.purdue.edu: 20140409174424.518 TS_ENDT {{NEXRAD2, ".*"}} Apr 09 17:44:24 notifyme[14910] NOTE: LDM-5 desired product-class: 20140409174424.518 TS_ENDT {{NEXRAD2, ".*"}} Apr 09 17:44:24 notifyme[14910] INFO: Resolving castor.rcac.purdue.edu to 128.211.158.124 took 0.040026 seconds Apr 09 17:44:24 notifyme[14910] NOTE: NOTIFYME(castor.rcac.purdue.edu): OK Apr 09 17:44:25 notifyme[14910] INFO: 18730 20140409174424.645 NEXRAD2 547037 L2-BZIP2/KAMX/20140409174251/547/37/I/V06/0 ... This tells us that castor is correctly getting the NEXRAD2 data and its ALLOW for machines in the unidata.ucar.edu domain is working correctly. But, a comparison of the NEXRAD2 volumes being reported by castor with those being reported by the IDD top level relay that we operate, idd.unidata.ucar.edu) show that the real time stats volumes that castor is reporting are measurably less: uni16.unidata.ucar.edu (one of the real-server backends of idd.unidata.ucar.edu): http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/rtstats/iddstats_vol_nc?NEXRAD2+uni16.unidata.ucar.edu castor.rcac.purdue.edu http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/rtstats/iddstats_vol_nc?NEXRAD2+castor.rcac.purdue.edu This unexpected difference is a flag to look harder at the setup on castor. Questions/request(s): - are there any abnormal looking messages in the LDM log file on castor? - can you send the output of 'ldmadmin config' on castor?
