Hi Greg, Some observations regarding FILE tests here at Unidata: - all of the synoptic files created by actions you provided previously but corrected for the \2:mm error were identical: /local/ldm/data/dynamo% foreach file (`ls -1r *.SYN`) foreach? echo Comparing $file to ../weather/ddp/$file foreach? diff $file ../weather/ddp/$file foreach? end Comparing 2011090705.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090705.SYN Comparing 2011090603.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090603.SYN Comparing 2011090506.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090506.SYN Comparing 2011090700.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090700.SYN Comparing 2011090703.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090703.SYN Comparing 2011090704.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090704.SYN Comparing 2011090719.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090719.SYN Comparing 2011090708.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090708.SYN Comparing 2011090706.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090706.SYN Comparing 2011090720.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090720.SYN Comparing 2011090707.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090707.SYN Comparing 2011090709.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090709.SYN Comparing 2011090723.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090723.SYN Comparing 2011090711.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090711.SYN Comparing 2011090610.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090610.SYN Comparing 2011090702.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090702.SYN Comparing 2011090710.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090710.SYN Comparing 2011090712.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090712.SYN Comparing 2011090600.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090600.SYN Comparing 2011090716.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090716.SYN Comparing 2011090714.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090714.SYN Comparing 2011090513.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090513.SYN Comparing 2011090713.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090713.SYN Comparing 2011090715.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090715.SYN Comparing 2011090721.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090721.SYN Comparing 2011090800.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090800.SYN Comparing 2011090717.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090717.SYN Comparing 2011090718.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090718.SYN Comparing 2011082806.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082806.SYN Comparing 2011082718.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082718.SYN Comparing 2011082812.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082812.SYN Comparing 2011082800.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082800.SYN Comparing 2011082906.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082906.SYN Comparing 2011082818.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082818.SYN Comparing 2011082900.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082900.SYN Comparing 2011083018.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083018.SYN Comparing 2011082912.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082912.SYN Comparing 2011082918.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082918.SYN Comparing 2011083006.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083006.SYN Comparing 2011090212.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090212.SYN Comparing 2011090106.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090106.SYN Comparing 2011090206.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090206.SYN Comparing 2011090100.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090100.SYN Comparing 2011083112.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083112.SYN Comparing 2011090112.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090112.SYN Comparing 2011083118.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083118.SYN Comparing 2011083100.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083100.SYN Comparing 2011090200.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090200.SYN Comparing 2011090118.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090118.SYN Comparing 2011083106.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083106.SYN Comparing 2011083012.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083012.SYN Comparing 2011083000.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083000.SYN Comparing 2011090803.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090803.SYN Comparing 2011090802.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090802.SYN Comparing 2011090805.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090805.SYN Comparing 2011090808.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090808.SYN Comparing 2011090809.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090809.SYN Comparing 2011090807.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090807.SYN Comparing 2011090810.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090810.SYN Comparing 2011090804.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090804.SYN Comparing 2011090801.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090801.SYN Comparing 2011090806.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090806.SYN Comparing 2011090811.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090811.SYN Comparing 2011090813.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090813.SYN Comparing 2011090814.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090814.SYN Comparing 2011090815.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090815.SYN Comparing 2011090812.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090812.SYN Comparing 2011090606.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090606.SYN Comparing 2011090722.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090722.SYN Comparing 2011090816.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090816.SYN Comparing 2011090817.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090817.SYN Comparing 2011090818.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011090818.SYN Interestingly, some of the date/times look nonsensical. For example: Comparing 2011082806.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082806.SYN Comparing 2011082718.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082718.SYN Comparing 2011082812.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082812.SYN Comparing 2011082800.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082800.SYN Comparing 2011082906.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082906.SYN Comparing 2011082818.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082818.SYN Comparing 2011082900.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082900.SYN Comparing 2011083018.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083018.SYN Comparing 2011082912.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082912.SYN Comparing 2011082918.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011082918.SYN Comparing 2011083006.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083006.SYN Comparing 2011083112.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083112.SYN Comparing 2011083118.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083118.SYN Comparing 2011083100.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083100.SYN Comparing 2011083106.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083106.SYN Comparing 2011083012.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083012.SYN Comparing 2011083000.SYN to ../weather/ddp/2011083000.SYN I mean nonsensical since the name is supposed to be CCYYMMDDHHMM and all of the HHs for the MM 08 are > 23. This is apparently due to the day being specified incorrectly in the bulletins themselves (and presumably, in the LDM/IDD Product IDs, but I can't check this since I didn't capture the Product IDs). Here is one example: /local/ldm/data/dynamo% ls -alt 2011082806.SYN -rw-rw-r-- 1 ldm ustaff 123 Sep 8 11:27 2011082806.SYN /local/ldm/data/dynamo% less 2011082806.SYN ^A^M 748 ^M SMCN24 CWAO 280600 RRZ^M AAXX 28064^M 71448 16/// /2101 10153 20103 39842 40162 58001 60001 333 7////=^M ^M ^M ^C See how the day specified is the 28th even though the product was received at 11:27 today, September 8? - the files captured by the SHP actions are different, but that is to be expected (by me, at least) since the second SHP action: WMO ^S.V.* .... ([0-3][[0-9])([0-2][0-9]) FILE -close data/weather/ddp/(\1:yyyy)(\1:mm)\1\2.SHP can match on lots of products that the first one won't: WMO ^S[IMN][VW][ABCDEFJ].. .... ([0-3][0-9])([0-2][0-9]) FILE -close data/dynamo/(\1:yyyy)(\2:mm)\1\2.SHP I chatted with Steve Emmerson about this yesterday, and he fretted over the use of '*' in the second pattern as it could match anything from the point it starts until the end of the Product ID. Questions: - did you implement the fix I suggested in yesterday afternoon's email (\2:mm -> \1:mm)? - if yes, are you now seeing data files during the 06-23Z period?
