Hmm... we REQUEST GEM data from ldm.meteo.ec.gc.ca, not ldm.weather.ec.gc.ca.
But, we are currently unable to get to ldm.meteo.ec.gc.ca:
% ldmping ldm.meteo.ec.gc.ca
Aug 25 18:50:45 INFO: State Elapsed Port Remote_Host
rpc_stat
Aug 25 18:50:45 INFO: Resolving ldm.meteo.ec.gc.ca to 199.212.17.24 took
0.002907 seconds
Aug 25 18:50:46 ERROR: ADDRESSED 0.192868 0 ldm.meteo.ec.gc.ca RPC:
Unable to receive; errno = Connection reset by peer
This should mean that there is some problem at CMC. We will contact folks
there to troubleshoot.
Aside: it is possible that their problem occurred at the same time (or because
of)
they contacted us about a problem receiving NEXRAD3 data from us. That problem
turned out to be something that they found and fixed on their side. I wonder
if the fix also knocked-out their feeding of the GEM data.

I will need to touch base with Jeff Weber here in Unidata to see if he
has a better handle on the change from ldm.weather.ec.gc.ca to
ldm.meteo.ec.gc.ca.
Cheers,
Tom
