Hi Bei, re: > Sorry for haven't reply you yesterday, but I report my snags to the IT > support in our department, and she asked me to try ipconfig /registerdns, > but still not working. OK. It will be important for DNS to be setup for your Windows machine at a minimum. The reason is that we had to hardwire a name definition in our /etc/hosts file so that the ALLOW in ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf could be used. If your machine's IP address changes, we would be forced to change the addition to our /etc/hosts file; this is something we do not want to do. re: > And she reported this weird thing to someone else and no reply till now.... > [?] ? re: > So I tried your experiment: > > notifyme -vl- -f EXP -p cosmicrt -h idd.unidata.ucar.edu > > and the output is as below: > notifyme -vl- -f EXP -p cosmicrt -h idd.unidata.ucar.edu > Feb 16 21:44:28 notifyme[1651] NOTE: Starting Up: idd.unidata.ucar.edu: > 20110216214428.561 TS_ENDT {{EXP, "cosmicrt"}} > Feb 16 21:44:28 notifyme[1651] NOTE: LDM-5 desired product-class: > 20110216214428.561 TS_ENDT {{EXP, "cosmicrt"}} > Feb 16 21:44:28 notifyme[1651] INFO: Resolving idd.unidata.ucar.edu to > 128.117.140.3 took 0.157702 seconds > Feb 16 21:44:28 notifyme[1651] NOTE: NOTIFYME(idd.unidata.ucar.edu): OK > > Is this supposed to be "successful"? The OK shows that the request made by 'notifyme' was honored by idd.unidata.ucar.edu. This means that you should now be able to add the REQUEST line I sent in a previous email to the ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf configuration file and then stop/restart your LDM. After doing that, data should start flowing. Cheers, Tom -- **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
