Hi Robert, This reply is being CCed to the LDM/IDD site administrator at Penn State University (PSU): Art Person <address@hidden> re: > I'd like to request an upstream feed site for an LDM client I've set up at > NC State University. > > Name of Site: North Carolina State University, Spatial Information Research > Lab > LDM admin name: Robert Austin > Phone: 919-513-0255 > Email: address@hidden > Hostname: opengis.soil.ncsu.edu (152.1.121.120) > Feedtypes: NEXRAD2, NEXRAD3, NXRDSRC, NIMAGE, UNIWISC Please be advised that the NXRDSRC feedtype is one used internally at NCDC only. The other feeds you should be able to get from Penn State University (PSU) from their toplevel IDD relay machine, idd-ingest.meteo.psu.edu. Penn State University should be willing to feed you the streams that you desire. You can verify that you are allowed to receive the NEXRAD2, NEXRAD3, NIMAGE, and UNIWISC datastreams from PSU as follows: <as 'ldm'> notifyme -vl- -f "NEXRAD2|NEXRAD3|NIMAGE|UNIWISC" -h idd-ingest.meteo.psu.edu If your request is "reclassed" to a smaller subset of these feeds, then the LDM site administrator at PSU (Art Person, who is CCed on this reply) will need to alter permissions to allow your requests. NB: - the volumes of the various feeds above are substantial. You will need to create multiple feed requests to accommodate all of these feeds. I suggest the following as a starting point: in ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf: request NEXRAD2 ".*" idd-ingest.meteo.psu.edu request NEXRAD3 ".*" idd-ingest.meteo.psu.edu request "NIMAGE|UNIWISC" ".*" idd-ingest.meteo.psu.edu - you will likely need to create an LDM queue larger than the default to accommodate these data. I suggest that you start with the following: in ~ldm/etc/ldmadmin-pl.conf: change: $pq_size = "400M"; to: $pq_size = "1G"; If you have already created your queue with the default size, you will need to delete and remake it: ldmadmin stop ldmadmin delqueue ldmadmin mkqueue ldmadmin start <- after you make the needed changes/additions to ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf > Thanks, No worries. I have added you as the site LDM/IDD site administrator at NCSU/SIRL in: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idd/sitelist.html. Please verify that the information listed is correct (and acceptable).
