Hi Randy, Quick status update on Saturday morning... The sizes of the GEFS files indicate that your new Internet connection is working much better than the old one: -bash-3.00$ ls -alt total 7873416 -rw-rw-r-- 1 ldm mcidas 2685482180 Feb 21 06:11 GFS_Global_1p0deg_Ensemble_06_2009022100.grib2 -rw-rw-r-- 1 ldm mcidas 2686377733 Feb 21 00:18 GFS_Global_1p0deg_Ensemble_00_2009022100.grib2 -rw-rw-r-- 1 ldm mcidas 2682614912 Feb 20 18:12 GFS_Global_1p0deg_Ensemble_18_2009022000.grib2 drwxrwxr-x 2 ldm mcidas 4096 Feb 21 05:36 . drwxr-xr-x 10 ldm mcidas 4096 Feb 18 23:39 .. One problem you will now face is that the file of concatenated GRIB2 GEFS messages is larger than 2 GB. It looks like your 'wgrib2' executable was not built with large file support, so it fails when trying to open any one of the output GEFS files: -bash-3.00$ wgrib2 GFS_Global_1p0deg_Ensemble_00_2009022100.grib2 *** FATAL ERROR: could not open file: GFS_Global_1p0deg_Ensemble_00_2009022100.grib2 *** I will setup the same processing of GEFS data on my workstation later today so that we can compare file sizes for the Sunday runs. More on Sunday night or Monday... Cheers, Tom -- **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
