Hi Hsie, re: > How come I can not ldmping tornado.geos.ulm.edu: > > rainbow:[47]% ldmping tornado.geos.ulm.edu > Aug 09 16:34:54 INFO: State Elapsed Port Remote_Host > rpc_stat > Aug 09 16:34:54 INFO: Resolving tornado.geos.ulm.edu to 198.202.242.22 > took 0.006013 seconds > Aug 09 16:34:55 ERROR: ADDRESSED 0.133217 0 > tornado.geos.ulm.edu RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection reset > by peer > Aug 09 16:35:30 ERROR: NAMED 10.000023 0 > tornado.geos.ulm.edu can't contact portmapper: RPC: Timed out Evidently the ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf file on tornado does not have an ALLOW line for rainbow.al.noaa.gov. Please remember that it is not necessary for a downstream to ALLOW feed requests (including notifyme and ldmping) from an upstream in order to receive data. It is, of course, necessary for the upstream to ALLOW the downstream.
