Hi Adam, I am CCing Hsie on this reply. Hsie, Adam Taylor is the ULM LDM/IDD contact. His email is: Adam Taylor <address@hidden> Adam wrote: > I rebooted the machine but am still getting the error: > > Aug 08 14:45:50 tornado rainbow.al.noaa.gov[717] NOTE: LDM-6 desired > product-class: 20060808144304.649 TS_ENDT {{FNEXRAD, "rad|pnga"},{NONE, > "SIG=f93430bf0cf281d6bf27548a29aa46f4"}} > Aug 08 14:45:51 tornado rainbow.al.noaa.gov[717] ERROR: Terminating due to > LDM failure; nullproc_6 failure to rainbow.al.noaa.gov; RPC: Unable to > receive; errno = Connection reset by peer > > This error just keeps going and going.... Hsie's original message to Unidata User Support expressed the opinion that the problem could be related to a firewall configuration: >> I see a lot of errors in my server (rainbow.al.noaa.gov). It porbably >> associate the firewall configuration: >> >> Aug 04 20:23:02 rainbow tornado.geos.ulm.edu(feed)[31829] ERROR: >> Couldn't flush connection; nullproc_6() failure to tornado.geos.ulm.edu: >> RPC: Unable to send; errno = Broken pipe >> Aug 04 20:23:02 rainbow rpc.ldmd[2107] NOTE: child 31829 exited with >> status 7 >> Aug 04 20:23:03 rainbow tornado.geos.ulm.edu(feed)[31964] NOTE: Starting >> Up(6.4.5/6): 20060804202301.211 TS_ENDT {{FNEXRAD, "rad|pnga"}}, Alternate >> Aug 04 20:23:03 rainbow tornado.geos.ulm.edu(feed)[31964] NOTE: topo: >> tornado.geos.ulm.edu {{FNEXRAD, (.*)}} >> Aug 04 20:29:02 rainbow tornado.geos.ulm.edu(feed)[31964] ERROR: >> Couldn't flush connection; nullproc_6() failure to tornado.geos.ulm.edu: >> RPC: Unable to send; errno = Broken pipe So, Hsie is seeing the same problem sending to you as you are receiving from him (not suprising). Questions: - what is the result of an 'ldmping' from tornado to rainbow: <as 'ldm'> ldmping rainbow.al.noaa.gov - what happens if you run the 'notifyme' command from tornado to rainbow: <as 'ldm'> notifyme -vxl- -f ANY -h rainbow.al.noaa.gov -o 3600 > At my last knowlage, rainbow.al.noaa.gov was to be my primary feed for > FNEXRAD and stokes.metr.ou.edu was my alternate. Yes. You should also be able to use pavan.srcc.lsu.edu as an upstream for FNEXRAD. > Below is my request entries in my ldmd.conf file. If any are in error I > will correct then as soon as possible. I do not see any errors in your ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf request lines. The only thing that comes to mind as being possibilities are: - /etc/hosts.allow misconfiguration (not allowing rainbow) - an entry in /etc/hosts that defines the IP <-> name for rainbow, and your /etc/nsswitch.conf file says to use file definitions before DNS (which is the way we configure things here) - there is something at Hsie's end (although he is not having any problems feeding other sites) > Thanks, Adam No worries. > # Request Entries > request UNIDATA|FSL|NMC|NPORT|GEM|NIMAGE ".*" pavan.srcc.lsu.edu > PRIMARY > request UNIDATA|FSL|NMC|NPORT|GEM|NIMAGE ".*" stokes.metr.ou.edu > ALTERNATE > request FNEXRAD "rad|pnga" rainbow.al.noaa.gov PRIMARY > request FNEXRAD "rad|pnga" stokes.metr.ou.edu ALTERNATE > request CRAFT "L2-BZIP2/...." idd.unidata.ucar.edu > request NLDN "." striker2.atmos.albany.edu > request NOGAPS "^US058GMET-GR1mdl.0058_0240.*" usgodae3.fnoc.navy.mil Cheers, Tom **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
