Hi Bill, re: > Tom -- Is there a problem with idd.geo.nsf.gov? Yes. atm.geo.nsf.gov went down with multiple hardware failures on Friday, April 14. I sent a note to this effect to the address@hidden email list (not the email that you included). > From logs, it looks > like we haven't gotten a feed from them since April 14th. > > I am seeing errors like: > Apr 25 14:56:02 idd idd[31800] ERROR: Terminating due to LDM failure; > Couldn't c > onnect to LDM on idd.geo.nsf.gov using either port 388 or > portmapper; : RPC: Rem > ote system error - No route to host Yup. > I can ping idd.geo.nsf.gov fine. atm is up in single user mode, so it responds to pings. Mike Schmidt is working to restore the root filesystem, but is having problems with Sun's fiberchannel driver. Mike is working with Sun to affect a fix. > --Bill Noon > Northeast Regional Climate Center > Cornell University Sorry for the problems. You can feed off of idd.unidata.ucar.edu until atm is brought back to life. As a heads-up: atm is also scheduled to be moved to a different subnet in NSF (geo.nsf.gov -> cise-nsf.gov). We are working with NSF IT folks to make all of the changes to the machine that are possible so that sites will not need to worry about making additional changes to their setups (e.g., ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf request lines) later.
