Do you know if >there is a problem with the feed, or is it on our end? I used the Unidata real time stats pages to trace the flow of NEXRAD2 data to UND: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idd/rtstats/siteindex.php adiabat.rwic.und.edu http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idd/rtstats/siteindex.php?adiabat.rwic.und.edu NEXRAD2 topology http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idd/rtstats/iddstats_topo_nc?NEXRAD2+adiabat.rwic.und.edu to find that you feed from whirlwind.aos.wisc.edu I used the same pages for whirlwind to see that it feeds from wisc.weather.purdue.edu. Unfortunately the last site does not provide stats. We do know, however, that the top level relay at Purdue for NEXRAD2 data is castor.itap.purdue.edu which is sending in stats: castor.itap.purdue.edu http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idd/rtstats/siteindex.php?castor.itap.purdue.edu A quick look at the latency, volume, or products plots for castor show that it stopped sending NEXRAD2 data near 0Z last night. We received a note from another toplevel NEXRAD2 relay indicating a problem getting data from the Western Region: Subject: IRaDS STATUS ALERT ... Western Region Outage To: Unidata <address@hidden> Date: Thu, 3 Nov 2005 00:55:00 -0600 (CST) We are experiencing an outage of NWS Western Region Level II data. We are not able to ldmping the server however we are able to trace route through I2. The National Weather Service has been informed. We will keep you informed if the problem continues to occur. Elsewhere, IRaDS data continues to flow normally. ----------------------------------------------------- Integrated Radar Data Services address@hidden http://www.radarservices.org 1-866-33IRADS This note indicates that we should be seeing an outage of all radars that are collected by the NWS Western Region Headquarters, but that all other regions should be OK. So, the problem is apparently at the Purdue toplevel NEXRAD2 relay at least for all radars except the ones from the Western Region. Purdue will be contacted to investigate the problem. >Rhesa Freeman >Data Manager >Regional Weather Information Center >University of North Dakota Cheers, Tom Yoksas -- NOTE: All email exchanges with Unidata User Support are recorded in the Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publicly available through the web.
