ldm outage @ UAF
This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. Rorik,
SOP for a Monday I guess. Traceroutes and pings look good.
Sidebar: I had Tim from UAF networking here to look over latency issues.
Later on this year, we will give him a test system that will be closer to
the core network.
All our feeders and the backup feeder are currently refusing our machine
(except for usgodae3.fnmoc.navy.mil|FNMOC).
I need to have Harry, James and Gerry investigate to see if they see a
connection problem on their end.

Rob,
I was seeing a lot of denied connection from 137.229.40.226.
The only other log regarding your feed was as follows:

Input/output error
I'm not sure what that refers to. In any case, I added the numerical
IP address in addition to daved.ims.uaf.edu. It seems to now allow a feed
to your site.

Thanks!
It seems we are continuing to have DNS problems at the University. Both,
in and out - bound. For you, you could not resolve daved.ims.uaf.edu and
for us we could not resolve rtstats.unidata.ucar.edu. I'll convert
rtstats.unidata.ucar.edu to an IP and watch for changes of its IP. I try
resumption of hostnames with the box closer to the core network.
