oh yes... If you do not see this: (jweber) lenny:/home/jweber 3 % ldmping atm.geo.nsf.gov Jul 28 19:41:14 State Elapsed Port Remote_Host rpc_stat Jul 28 19:41:14 RESPONDING 0.149045 388 atm.geo.nsf.gov Jul 28 19:41:39 RESPONDING 0.053486 388 atm.geo.nsf.gov Then there is a problem with either DNS, or port authority/mapping. (jweber) lenny:/home/jweber/scripts 9 % nslookup drizzle.hupas.howard.edu Server: laraine.unidata.ucar.edu Address: 128.117.140.62 Non-authoritative answer: Name: drizzle.hupas.howard.edu Address: 138.238.161.76 I am going to add your IP as well, but that makes no sense as it resolves fine here...OK, that is it! You will need to go to your IT dept and have them install lookup AND reverse look up.. I am adding IP so that the DNS issue is usurped, but we will need to address this issue soon as we prefer hostnames to IP's in conf files, since IP's are more dynamic. This all makes sense now...I will follow up, but am heading home soon. Give a try now..
