Hello Tim,
The first thing that is needed to start this process is for you to install
our LDM software on your machine. I invite you to view:
http://unidata.ucar.edu/packages/ldm/index.html
for instructions, system requirements, source code and binary
distributions of the software, etc....
I would also encourage you to view:
http://unidata.ucar.edu/packages/ldm/feedtypes/index.html
which describes the current data streams available via the IDD.
Since we are pushing this data a large distance geographically, it would
be prudent to begin small and test our connectivity. Also, many of the
products are probably not of interest to your locale, so that should help
us throttle down the load. We can restrict feedtypes to include only
certain products via regular expressions..as defined in the man pages for
the LDM.. so it is a very flexible piece of software, and I feel
comfortable that we can make -something- happen and get you some data of
interest.
I will need your full domain name for your machine and an IP if you know
it so I can begin working on a topology to your machine.
Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to working with you on
this endeavor. Please feel free to contact myself or
address@hidden
if/when any questions arise.
-Jeff
