Chris,
It seems that the lightning machine is not running the ldm currently. I
would try the backup machine thunder.alden.com If that doesn't help,
call alden support because the problem is on their end. Also, I would
check that there's an allow for your site to match your request line for
DIFAX.

The data structure is dependent on the site, a site can set up any
structure to fit their needs. The LDM structure, which I don't think you
are talking about needs to be as stated in the LDM pre Installation
instructions.

I would check out the GEMPAK page on the pqact.conf entries. It's better
to follow the package guideline pqact entries.
