=============================================================================== Robb Kambic Unidata Program Center Software Engineer III Univ. Corp for Atmospheric Research address@hidden WWW: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/ =============================================================================== ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 10 Nov 1999 15:34:13 -0500 (EST) From: Jeff Masters <address@hidden> To: address@hidden Subject: umich status The machine blueskies.sprl.umich.edu is soon to be replaced with a newer Solaris machine to handle IDD tasks. blueskies is growing increasingly unreliable, and I would like all users of the machine to switch to aldehyde.sprl.umich.edu as soon as they can. I am going out of town for a week starting Friday, and I doubt the blueskies machine will stay up in my absence. FYI, I have left my position at the University of Michigan to work full-time at the Weather Underground, Inc., but have agreed to maintain the University's IDD node for at least 6 months until a permanent replacement can be trained. However, I will still be active in the IDD as I work with the Weather Underground, Inc., since we have agreed to use our NOAAPORT dish to act as a redundant feed source for the IDD. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dr. Jeff Masters (address@hidden) ( ) Chief Meteorologist /\ Home of the ( ) The Weather Underground, Inc. /\ / \ /\ /\ ( ) P.O.
