The 384 forecast hour MRF grid was just sent today (only grid received). Data today is delayed due to Cray computer crashes which run the forecast models. Please refer to all NOUS42 KWNO messages for information regarding forecast runs. 673 NOUS42 KWNO 311255 SPECIAL NCEP DISCUSSION CENTRAL OPERATIONS/NCEP/NWS/WASHINGTON DC 1245 UTC TUE AUG 31 1999 311245Z...THE CRAY 3 IS STILL OUT OF SERVICE. WILL BE USING OTHER RESOURCES TO HELP WITH THE 12Z CYCLE IF THE CRAY CAN NOT BE BROUGHT BACK SOON. IN THIS EVENT WE EXPECT THE 12Z ETA AND NGM TO BE JUST A LITTLE DELAYED. THE 12Z AVN OUTPUT SHOULD BE CLOSE TO ON TIME. WITHOUT CRAY 3 THE 12Z ETA WILL BE AN 80KM VERSION. NORMAL RUC2 OUTPUT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE CRAY 3 IS BACK ON LINE. KNEAS/SDM/NCO/NCEP When NCEP computers are down, the dbnet system they use to post data to the computer with the LDM running on it cannot obtain the data files. Also, your mail program apparently has a configuration problem as the messages are received here with cc: address@hidden. Steve Chiswell
