Hiya, The mystery might be solved, remember Peter Neiley's note. Well the NWS has changed the category on some of the binary products headers to indicate that the products were text not binary. The SSEC ingest therefore send these products (models) out over the IDS|DDPLUS feed type not HRS. I have reconfigured the NCAR SSEC ingestor to send these products out over the HRS feed type.
